Brand Overview

Established in 1979 as Western Chemicals, the company grew to be a successful surface coatings company manufacturing a wide variety of high tech paint and chemical products. In 1995, a new chapter began when the powder coating and industrial paint manufacturing business was sold. This enabled them to concentrate on producing more environmentally friendly products based on mostly water based technology. The company was renamed Coating Technologies Limited.

Cotec now produces a comprehensive range of paints, backed with state of the art colour technology, targeted for domestic, commercial and industrial use. Their core markets have evolved to include coating systems for swimming pools, flooring, architectural and light industrial markets.

Still 100% locally owned, Coating Technologies is based in East Tamaki, Auckland and operates from a modern manufacturing facility where they have a dedicated development laboratory. Their products are marketed throughout Asia Pacific region, Australia and New Zealand and are recognised as market leading in many of the segments they participate in.
