#12 - DeBeer 8-149 HS Surfacer

8-149 is an extremely versatile tintable primer which can be used in both sanding and WOW (wet on wet) modes.
Easy to spray as a surfacer or as a sealer, for sanding and non-sanding purposes. It is suitable for repairs and new construction.
If you are looking to create a strong primer colour to go under your topcoat, then this is the primer to use.
As well as creating a strong coloured primer to go under topcoat colours which may have transparent qualities, it is perfect for restoration work where the primer can be tinted to a similar colour to the topcoat (this can reduce the visual contrast often seen with a standard-coloured primer against the topcoat when a stone chip or scratch occurs).

DeBeer 8-149 is the preferred WOW primer undercoat for BeroBase 500 series (basecoat) system.
Note: 8-149 is not compatible as a WOW undercoat for WaterBase 900+ series system.

Tinting 8-149
To create a coloured primer, 8-149 is tinted with DeBeer BeroMix 2000 series toners.
A large selection of pre-formulated colours are available on ICRIS under the UC - UNDERCOAT lookup (Color→Car→Brands).
Either MS or HS hardeners can be used.
Mixing Ratios
The following is an example for reading line 1 of the "Sanding" mixing ratio guide below:
- Mix 8-149 with DeBeer 2000 series toners at a ratio of 3:1
- Then mix with an MS hardener at a ratio of 3:1
- Then add reducer at a rate of 0 - 10%
